Climate change, conflict and
COVID-19 threaten to erode decades
of development progress.

Grant-based funding rarely supports innovation at scale, and, in the wake of the pandemic, institutional donors are facing new pressures at home.  A $2.5 trillion funding gap is hampering efforts to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Traditional funding approaches are not sufficient to adequately meet all communities in need.

Financial flexibility and a capacity to test new models will be the only way we can continue to deliver sustainable social benefit to millions of children and their communities.

As we move towards 2030 last and first mile connectivity and digital competencies will rapidly grow in the world's most vulnerable countries.

The aid sector must harness the opportunities for children presented by digital inclusion,  transforming the way we deliver services - doing more with less and strengthening the quality of our services.

In response to these challenges, Save the Children has established a global initiative to leverage innovative financial models and scale innovation.

Through a new specialist entity, we aim to leverage Save the Children’s global delivery platform while maintaining sufficient independence to create a more agile and entrepreneurial culture.

This will ensure we can dramatically increase Save the Children’s impact, fulfilling our vision of a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
